As my signature and photo suggest, I am getting on a bit now but as is oft quoted ‘Age is a state of the mind. If you don’t mind it doesn’t matter’
I live in Australia in the provincial city of Geelong , about an hours drive from Melbourne, Capital of Victoria. I spent my teenage years here and chunks of my adult life. My children grew up here and are still in the region and I am a graduate of Visual Art & Design-Fine Arts from Deakin, the local university. Since then I’ve practiced as a career painter/artist, your can find further info about my work at my website:

Nowadays, I’m downsizing. Living in a small apartment and the complexities of an ageing body has necessitated a transition from large format works to much smaller, more intimate pieces. Although, in many ways I’m finding less is more, the transition nonetheless has tried me. Funnily enough I miss the terror and adrenalin rush of addressing a large blank canvas waiting ominously for an act of defilement to be committed upon its blatant nakedness. Somehow, making smaller scale pictures doesn’t have quite the same magnetic pull and demand for engagement. But, maybe that just goes with the not-so-young territory and I’ve yet to more completely adjust. My career trajectory is not uncharacteristic, I’ve experienced monumental creative ‘highs’ unspeakable ‘lows’ and lots of plateaux in between. In more recent times I’ve explored some intimately scaled realistic depictions of family and friends as well as a few still life and landscapes in pastel...and as yet, still at the exploratory stage.
